Sierra Club Foundation | Vehicle Donation Program

Donate your vehicle and support the Sierra Club Foundation. As the fiscal sponsor of the charitable programs of Sierra Club, we provide resources to it and other nonprofit organizations to support scientific, educational, literary, organizing, advocacy, and legal programs that further our goals.

When you donate a vehicle that you no longer need or use, you reduce your impact, support the Sierra Club Foundation, and receive a tax deduction. CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) will pick up most cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and heavy equipment, making it easy for you to support our mission to move toward a greener future.

The Sierra Club Foundation promotes efforts to educate and empower people to protect and improve the natural and human environment. Our goals:

  • Solve the climate crisis through a successful transition to a resource-efficient, clean energy economy that better serves people and nature;
  • Secure protections for public lands and waters, promote healthy ecosystems and communities, and fight for clean air and water;
  • Expand opportunities for more people to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet by supporting programs and policies that reach across economic, cultural, and community lines to get people outdoors; and
  • Build a diverse, inclusive environmental movement that reflects and represents today's American public, and prioritizes important connections between environmental health and social justice.

Our vehicle donation program is currently open and operational

We want to assure you that we take the health and safety of donors, drivers, and our associates very seriously, and we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. We are still able to pick up vehicles; however, please be aware there may be delays. We have also requested drivers to practice safe and secure interactions with donors, including minimizing contact.
